Zendaya finally addressed the fake AI wedding photos that took over social media this month and she did it entirely on her own terms. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on March 16, the actress shut down the fabricated images while keeping the studio audience thoroughly entertained.
Speculation began in February after Zendaya was photographed wearing a gold wedding band instead of her engagement ring. Things escalated on March 1 when her stylist Law Roach told reporters at the Actor Awards red carpet that the wedding had already happened and refused to walk it back when asked again. The internet did the rest, and AI-generated wedding photos of Zendaya and Tom Holland began spreading rapidly across platforms, convincing enough to fool even people close to Zendaya in real life.
When Kimmel raised the topic on air, Zendaya played innocent with a deadpan “Really?! I haven’t seen any of that!” She then described the strange experience of friends and acquaintances approaching her with compliments about wedding photos that were entirely AI-generated. “They’re not real,” she told them simply.
She then unveiled what she called a “never-before-seen wedding video” which turned out to be a scene from her upcoming film The Drama, with Holland’s face clumsily pasted over co-star Robert Pattinson’s. When Kimmel noted the obvious edit, she refused to flinch: “That was real footage. I was there, for sure.” Cue audience laughter.
Zendaya and Holland got engaged at the end of 2024. Holland confirmed it himself in September 2025 when he corrected a journalist who called Zendaya his “girlfriend.” Whether a private ceremony has already taken place remains officially unconfirmed and based on this Kimmel appearance, that’s exactly how Zendaya wants it.
