The wait is officially over. The first full trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day landed on March 18, 2026, giving Marvel fans their clearest look yet at what Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has been living through since the universe-altering events of No Way Home. And by the looks of it, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has had a very rough few years.
Set four years after No Way Home, the trailer shows Peter Parker still reeling from the sacrifice he made when he asked Doctor Strange to erase his identity from the world’s memory. His girlfriend MJ, played by Zendaya, and best friend Ned, played by Jacob Batalon, have no idea who he is. He watches their lives from a distance present but invisible.
Things get more complicated when Peter’s body begins to mutate. His eyes turn black in one startling sequence, and he wakes inside a cocoon of visual cues that point toward a significant transformation for the character. He turns to Dr. Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, for help understanding what is happening to him.
The trailer also teases Jon Bernthal’s return as the Punisher, Michael Mando’s Scorpion, and the Hand ninja group as key threats. New cast members include Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Marvin Jones III as the gangster Tombstone. Tom Holland’s new suit featuring raised black webbing closely echoing the design from Sam Raimi’s original trilogy has already become a talking point among fans.
Sony made the rollout itself an event. Holland personally announced that 23 dedicated Spider-Man fan accounts around the world would each release a piece of the trailer, creating a global community-driven reveal unlike anything the franchise had done before. The response across social media was immediate and electric.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by returning duo Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026. Following the predecessor’s $1.9 billion worldwide gross, expectations are sky high. If this trailer is any indication, Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing may be his most emotionally and physically demanding yet.
