Zendaya and Tom Holland Confirmed for Christopher Nolan’s Next Film

Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated next feature film continues to generate excitement across the entertainment industry, with actors Tom Holland and Zendaya officially confirmed as part of the star-studded cast of “The Odyssey,” an ambitious adaptation of Homer’s legendary Greek epic. Following the extraordinary success of “Oppenheimer,” Nolan is once again assembling a remarkable ensemble, bringing together some of Hollywood’s most recognizable names for what is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2026.

Universal Pictures has described the project as a mythic action epic, marking Nolan’s first full-scale exploration of Greek mythology. The film is based on the ancient story of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, whose perilous journey home following the Trojan War has captivated audiences for centuries. Known for blending large-scale spectacle with emotional storytelling, Nolan’s involvement has already elevated expectations among both moviegoers and industry observers.

Tom Holland is set to portray Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, while Zendaya will reportedly take on the role of Athena, the powerful goddess who guides and protects Odysseus throughout his journey. Interestingly, reports indicate that the two actors, despite appearing in the same film, do not share scenes together due to the nature of their respective characters within the story.

The cast extends far beyond Holland and Zendaya. Academy Award winner Matt Damon leads the project alongside Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, and Benny Safdie. The impressive lineup has fueled speculation that “The Odyssey” could become one of Nolan’s most ambitious productions to date.

Production has reportedly taken place across multiple international locations, including Greece, Italy, Morocco, Iceland, Scotland, and Malta, reflecting the vast geographical scope of the original tale. The film is also being shot using newly developed IMAX technology, a move that continues Nolan’s long-standing commitment to pushing cinematic innovation and large-format filmmaking.

Industry reports suggest the project carries a budget of approximately $250 million, potentially making it the most expensive film of Nolan’s career. The scale of the production, combined with its acclaimed creative team and globally recognized source material, has positioned the film among the most anticipated releases on the upcoming calendar.

“The Odyssey” is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters worldwide on July 17, 2026. As anticipation continues to build, the collaboration between Christopher Nolan, Tom Holland, and Zendaya is already drawing significant attention, setting the stage for what could become one of the defining cinematic releases of the decade.
