LISA Reveals How Her BLACKPINK Sisters Support Her

LISA is opening up about the bond she shares with her BLACKPINK bandmates, revealing that JENNIE, Rosé, and Jisoo remain each other’s biggest cheerleaders even as all four members pursue their own solo projects. Speaking exclusively to E! News at the world premiere of her documentary “Always LaLisa” during the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, LISA made clear that any talk of rivalry within the group couldn’t be further from the truth.

“They’re like my sisters,” LISA said of her fellow BLACKPINK members, according to E! News . “They’re like my family. And of course, even though we are doing all the solo stuff, we still text each other.” She added that her bandmates had already reached out ahead of her documentary’s release, texting that they “can’t wait to watch it.”

The comments echo what LISA has said in earlier interviews about the group’s dynamic. Discussing their individual releases, she previously described celebrating Jennie and Rosé’s solo songs together over text and FaceTime, saying, “They’re like family. I’m just so happy that they’re releasing something. This is what we all wanted to do, so I just wanted to say that I really do love their songs.” She has also insisted that BLACKPINK’s future together remains a priority alongside each member’s solo ambitions, noting the group plans to return next year and calling BLACKPINK “part of our lives.”

“Always LaLisa,” which chronicles LISA’s rise from trainee to global superstar, promises fans an intimate look behind the curtain of her career. “They get to see all the behind the scenes, like how I work,” she told E! News of what audiences can expect from the film. “I hope they enjoy it.”

The documentary’s premiere comes during a big year for LISA, who recently opened up in a separate interview with Vanity Fair about how she came to be known by her stage name, revealing she legally adopted “Lalisa,” meaning “one who is praised” in Thai, at age 13 on the suggestion of a fortune teller she visited after auditioning for YG Entertainment. Reflecting on the choice years later, she said simply, “It’s just me from the start. I feel like I’m always Lalisa from the start.”
